Let's go racin': Much testing for Lauderdale
#1
If you think F1 racers have given up on the season, think again. If you think the season is decided, think again. Actually, Lauderdale shapes up to be quite a brawl.
Racers are getting stoked by the gloom & doom statements made by Gino, the F1 points leader. They hope Gino might not be, shall we say mentally prepared for the race.
Randy has consulted the spreadsheets given in http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...threadid=57814 . Randy has a very slim chance of winning the series if he comes in as #1 in both, and if Gino breaks down. Randy, ever the optimist: “It’s his turn to break.”
Not leaving anything to luck, F1-29 will go down I95 early next week for several days of intensive prop testing and tweaking at Throttle-Up in Largo, FL.
The Eagles, #3 in the standings, have been spotted last week doing intensive tests on Lake Tarpon (careful with the spelling.) According to our on-site moles, the testing even attracted the attention of Steve Miklos who bummed a ride in F1-83.
The Eagles are even testing different drivers. Last week, they were seen with a Hall of Champignons member. This week, they will do another round, and they will test a driver who is both an F1 ace and a frequent poster here on OSO (avatar, dunce cap.) With 200# less in the boat and with reworked props courtesy of Throttle Up, the Eagle boat has been seen scooting around the course faster than ever before. They hope to be breathing down Typhoon's neck in Ft. Lauderdale. (Use a breath mint.)
On the HP525 front, Lavey will most likely show up at Lauderdale with that killer engine. Velocity is also rumored to go for more horses. Stingy as they are, they might wait for the HP500-to-HP525 upgrade kit that has been a topic of much discussion lately. For chump change, that kit would elevate the trusted HP500 to HP525 levels. Steve Miklos is said to be looking at it for possible approval.
Said Steve M. : "Who tests the most, wins the most."

He's in P4, MD. When the clock strikes 80, he has to move aside.
Dave: P4 won't run with F1 ... but you'll run with the bat-tered racer's society. How much for plowing duty in front of the Purple Bat ?
Bracket racing makes men humble. Where else would they say: "My 38 cig never reaches 80. Never!"

Last minute updates from the waterfront:
On-the-ground assets report Randy tearing up the waters at Throttle-Up as we are typing this. According to unfounded rumors, Randy found 3 mph which another team had lost there recently. Testing had been delayed due to technical reasons.
In related news, Kitten found four new props in her bushes yesterday. The search is on for the rightful owner(s.)
Screamin' Eagles team member Lance has been successfully retrieved from a roof which he had made his home for the last 5 days.
Michelle finally opened the parking lot.
