I agree as well, that asking question is prudent, because jumping to any conclusion without doing so can be dangerous. His comments are what prompted me to ask the questions. He did not request me to ask anything. I was basically asking whether or not what he told me was true or if he was spreading BS. If that guy is honest and concerned and proactive,LEt him make the calls and ask the questions himself. He seemed to have no question as to the validity of his statements and that is why I was asking, to clarify and find out if his comments are founded in truth or if they were intended to smear the LLC. They were pretty strong statements that if they are true could lead to big problems. Just looking for clarification/verification. From the way you described him and how he wants to stay hidden while you take heat he sounds a little like a weasel to me.That just comes from personal experience with those shadowy types.Dont let him use you like that Shane. Thank you for teh concern and advice. It is good advice. However, I don't think he wants me to take the heat, again, because he never asked me to say or ask anything. I hope his intentions were not devious. I admire you for being curious though,since you dont race anymore,,,but if you look agian you really are not simply just asking questions here.You are also making statements like when you agreed with Steve when he said hydros dont have venue change problems like the LLC.Or when supported Cashbrian when he announced that the Orange Beach race was not going to be UIM. Point well taken. Thats when I felt I had to point out,,,not that I wanted to,,,but the facts are hydros have lost more race venues than they ran this year.WHen they are that far away from the truth and not purely just innocent questions I feel the need to respond.But When they come from an unknown third party and are absent of facts they start to look a lot like personal digs. You guys sure ganged up on Shane didn't you..........? "Shut up and race"......... has become the LLC's new slogan. In an odd sort of way....it fits. Don't ask questions.....just get in your boats...and do what we tell you....until we tell you something different. There are many people on here who love the sport..... and there is a basis for logical and civil discussion..... and that is healthy...... But healthy discussion requires abstaining from personal attacks on someone's credibility.......or intelligence. Shane asked some questions....... They deserve either an answer or an "I don't know"......... For a bunch of pro APBA LLC 'ers to talk about bias is assinine............. There are passions on all sides of this issue....and that's to be expected. There are people with integrity and some slime balls as well.......that's life. But, too many of the threads on here turn into street fights every time someone asks a question. This is an open forum You don't have to be a racer to ask about racing. Kind of what I have been thinking, and saying. I really don't understand the "Shut Up" part. We have seen many improvements over on the dark side (SBI). None of them came about because anyone kept quiet. Some of them might even have been influenced by CONSTRUCTIVE comments from the OSO forums. SQ |

A show of hand from one who races.
I respect the tenacity which the LLC has shown moving the sport forward. These guys are working their butts off to build a business. The few fulltime, and many part time, volunteers and employees of this small business seem to have one overriding goal: to improve offshore racing for everyone.
This small business has shown much strength. When working with reputable people, it can put on a well organized and top-notch event; an event that attracts casual and hard-core fans alike. Races that bring out the best racers and teams to participate. When working with business partners that have common goals, each can benefit. The GM program is a great example. To be associated with GM benefits all the sponsors, big and small. In the face of adversity, the business stands strong. There have been many potholes in the road. Some businesses would have just pulled off and given up. I applaud their efforts and conviction for staying on their current path. This is why the majority of offshore racers choose to spend their time and money with APBA Offshore, LLC. Our common goal is to work together to build and improve the sport. Jim |

We have seen sweeping improvements and changes at SBI this year. They happened because John Carbonnell and Co. listened. My point of view is that the racers and fans are the customers. Telling them to keep quiet just makes a bad situation worse. It's possible that I could have used another analogy. But it seemed fitting to use an Offshore sanctioning body. Particularly because I am a member (I also have a current APBA card). Let me assure you that if I want to "stir things up" I'm more than capable of doing so. The issue is that the group complaining about it the most......seems to be the biggest offender, at least on this thread. Well time after time my point is missed. I haven't always supported everything APBA Offshore has done but the racing aspect is without a doubt better than it was several years ago. Race sites have been changed - so what? Lee Mills ? Have you ever been around Lee Mills for say over an hour at a time? What a joke , he's the type of guy that we hung our jock strap on in high school. I'll say it again APBA Offshore is a bigger family than just Alweiss , it's The Stars Rescue , the officials and racers that make up our group. I look at a race as a big family reunion. Another thing is you probally think I talk to Alweiss regularly - nope. I haven't spoke to him on the phone in over a year. Hell I couldn't even get my girlfriend in the wet pits in Sarasota and my boat was DQ'd in Marathon. No favortism here , we all play by the same rules. Hey and I actually thought you were hilarious calling the races - ahhhhhhhhhh CHRISTINE! B2h |
