Jersey Boyz invade Cambridge: "This is awesome!"
“I’m standing in front of the Cigarette trailer,” reports Ron Polli from Cambridge Maryland, “my wife has spent $300, and she has barely started. “
If "Cambridge" makes you think row boats, think again.
What was Main Street has been renamed “Race Street.” There are 2 live bands, vintage cars are on display, shops will be open into the night. “It’s like a town fair in Iowa,” says Ron. “It’s awesome.”
Close to 30 boats will be racing tomorrow, Sunday.
In the first race at 12 noon, 6 P5 boats, 4 P4 boats and 5 Club Class boats will race on the Choptank river.
The 2:30 race is for the bigger guys: 7 P3 boats and 6 P1 boats. The race has attracted very heavy caliber boats, amongst them Art Lillie’s 46foot double canopy Skater. Then there are Brioschi, Styling, Relentless and Lightning Jacks - all regulars at Jersey Boyz races.
Last we heard, the Hyatt was still standing and had not been burned to the ground. Bruce broke a distributor, which is relatively minor, compared to the things he usually breaks. The distributor was replaced in the afternoon. Speaking of distributors: Ron Polli had issue #4 of Extreme Boats magazine flown in. He distributed fresh-off-the-press copies.
Mrs. Polli had spent $600 when this article was finished.
OSO regulars may deduce that the Cigarette trailer was admitted, that Diamond Dave will be racing tomorrow, and that the Jersey Boyz are one happy family.
Whacked, but happy.

On Sunday afternoon, Ron was reached by Mastercard. They reported unusual activity.
Ron: "Unusual? I wish it were unusual!"
MC: "But, Sir: $3000 for cigarette purchases?"

Seems like the only people unhappy at the end of the racing day is the guys who don't know any better.

Just for the record , every class P1,2,3,4,&5 were won by Jersey Boyz!!
