Joe, I feel your pain but you know you did the right thing.

Visit her often and be thankfull she's still around.

Joe,

Even though you may feel bad about it, it was the best possible thing you can do. Less stressful yourself and Nursing homes can give the care 24/7. Hope all continues in a positive direction for you and your family at this time.

Joe,
We recently has a similar situation with my wifes grandfather. It is tough, for us the thought of putting a WWII hero in a home was almost to much for me to deal with.

Now that is has been a couple of months he is doing much much better than he was before. The medical care he is getting round the clock has helped him. Regardless of the resources, we could have never given the same level of care and expertise he required.

The good news is he joined my in-laws for Thanksgiving and will be spending Christmas day with us as well.

best wishes,
Rick

Most difficult thing I had to do 1 year ago! It is
best for you and your loved one. My mom suffered
from stroke related dementia and is always looking
for her mother. My thoughts & prayers are with you.
Visit often and at different times of the day.:(

Hi Joe,

I understand it's hard and you may being feeling a little guilt, but it I'm sure you know in your heart that you took care of her for as long as you could!
It's whats best for your mom that matters.

We all hope to live a long Healthy life to the end! Some people are fortunate enough to do that, but the reality is that not all of us will be that lucky!
The best thing that you can do is have your mom in a place that is capable of meeting her ever increasing needs at this point in her life.
Visit her often & she will know that you love her.

God Bless you and your family,

Tom
