Press Release:

Great Lakes Silver Cup Series Travels to Cape Cod

Cape Cod and the Town of Yarmouth, Massachusetts will be the host of the Cleveland Construction 2004 Great Lakes Silver Cup Series Championship presented by Formula Powerboats September 17th – 19th. The GLSCS and all of our racing family, sponsors and fans are graciously welcomed to participate in this first annual event. Our hostess, Patti Lloyd, of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce and host, Bob DuBois of the Yarmouth Chamber of commerce, along with their Offshore Racing seasoned Town Officials and Volunteers promise an exciting conclusion to the 2004 GLSCS Offshore racing schedule.

Awaiting our Teams, Sponsors and Fans in Cape Cod is over seventy miles of beautiful beaches, accommodations ranging from full-service resorts to charming bed & breakfasts, elegant restaurants to seafood shanties preparing old-fashioned Cape Cod fare, 42 premier golf courses, museums, galleries, Cranberry festivals and of course, the excitement of GLSCS Offshore Racing in the Nantucket Sound.

This is a great Family event including festivals like the Harwich Cranberry Festival, Whale Watching, Miniature golf, biking, Hiking, and Swimming. Skippy’s Pier One Restaurant and Marina will be providing a terrific location for our Meetings and owner Sandra DiGiovanni is a real Silver Cup Champion at throwing an awards banquet.

For Teams out of Ohio, Airtran (800-air-tran – www.airtran.com) is offering $49.00 flights from Akron-Canton Airport to Boston, MA. This rate is a promotional rate and will be gone soon so book your flights now. Yarmouth, MA is only a 75-mile ride from Boston, MA or you can get in touch with US Airways (800-348-4322 – www. usairways.com) or Cape Air (800-352-0714 – www.flycapeair.com) about service from Boston’s Logan Airport direct into Hyannis Airport.
