Same race course for everybody.
Just an idea: Maybe if we tried to look for the things that we can agree on, the things of which we don't agree will look minimal in hindsight?
David Scott put it well. For the balance of classes please contact John Carbonel if you're an SBI member and Jim Poplin if you're an APBA member. They both want this event to showcase what can be accomplished when everyone works together. And yes indeed, there may be bumps in accomplishing that goal. That's the downside risk, the upside, is a great race, with lots of history, lots of boats, and the chance to share.

Tachyon,
Yes we'll be running the exact length course, same number of laps etc. The only difference is for the scoring which will be for each organizations points title. As you're registered, you'll get points for both SBI and APBA. Where PX usually runs 40 miles (if I'm correct) I'm of the belief that will be scored at the end of how ever many laps that takes, the race won't stop there however. You'll continue on for the balance of laps as Superboat Unlimited for the SBI title. I hope that clarifies it. If not, please let me know. We're covering new ground here and want to do what's right for you guys.
Thanks also for coming to Sarasota. Your commitment is deeply appreciated. Jim Poplin will be the APBA Offshore referee for this event, as my Unlimited Hydro season opens in Madison IN that same weekend. I regret not having the opportunity to meet you in Sarasota, and hope we have the chance at a future event.

Steve ..Have a safe and successful Unlimited Hydro season.
I keep praying for Sanford to show on the schedule now that most of the river walk is complete.
In the meantime I'll be attending offshore. Hope to run into you again soon...
Take care
