Four broke in the race before, and the remaining few decided not to leave their brothers behind.

Bob Kersteen explains the hurdles that were put in the way of the race. And how they were overcome. All testing is confined to today, and it is highly regulated.

It has been an OSS policy that all teams testing must pass the medical examination, including sobriety check. This does not change today.

It is also OSS policy that testing is covered by the OSS rescue diver team in the Angel helicopters. Today, not more than six boats are allowed to test at any given time, and they must check in and out with Race Control via radio.
