Darn that buoy! We were looking pretty good going into the final heat. We were leading points on the day, had lane 1 with Bud in lane 4. The Madison course is a 2.5 mile with 600' turns. So it's 196 MPH into the turn, and in 600 feet width you're going the other direction. That Apex buoy is the bear to get around, and I clipped it on the left sponson. Had it only been hit no problem, but it dislodged and that's a 1 lap penalty. Hard to hide that I did it, as the turn judge was about 100 feet away and the Speedvision helo was overhead. Now, if I could just referee my own races

Bud won, they were gracious in victory, and we'll head to Detroit in 2 weeks and see if we can even out the wins.
