Somewhere I read that the Bud Unlimited Hydro was approved to run in the kilo... Is this the venue or is it the run at LOTO??? OR elswhere...??

Really

This is from the latest issue of Powerboat mag..

6.11.04—UNLIMITED HYDROPLANES ALLOWED TO COMPETE IN 2004 LAKE RESCUE SHOOTOUT: After Miss Budweiser entered and won the 2002 Lake Rescue Shootout, event organizers banned hydroplanes from competition. Now that key competitors have proven to be capable of the same speeds as those achieved by Miss Budweiser in 2002, Shootout organizers again will allow Unlimited hydroplanes to compete in the 2004 event.

"In 2003 Callan Marine set an unbelievable course record at 203 mph," said Shootout Chairman Jeff Dorhauer. "However this has once again forced the committee to look at competition for that title. Who do we have out there that can compete with those speeds? The clear answer is to allow Unlimited hydroplanes to run in the event again, so we are allowing them again in 2004."

Scheduled for August 27-29, the 16th Annual Lake Rescue Shootout gives people a chance to show what their boats can do on a controlled course with full safety crews on hand. The Lake Rescue Shootout also raises much-needed funds for the Osage Beach Fire Protection District.

"Our event is and always has been a 'run what you brung' event and we don't feel that has changed," Dorhauer said. "We want to provide a safe haven for boats 22' and longer to actually see what they can produce. We also realize that our fans and our "weekend" racers love to watch Bacardi Silver, Dave Callan, Big Thunder, Miss Budweiser and others like them scream down this course and fight for the Top Gun. The fight is on!"—Brett Becker

Considering how well many of the SVL boats are running now I would think that a new kilo record for that class may be set in NC.
