In Savannah two years ago at the APBA/UIM kilo there were all kinds of water craft that showed up to run the kilo. My understanding was that running the kilo, even if the watercraft had nothing to do with offshore racing, was an opportunity for a watercraft to have a UIM acknowledged speed record for that specific watercraft. There were some jet skis there as well as some other boats that didn't race offshore. So I guess you could run the kilo in whatever you wanted and say you had a UIM speed record, even if that class doesn't exist.
I am sure someone else could give us more specific rules regarding the kilo than me. I also imagine there are both SBI and APBA rules that will play into this since it is a combined event. |

Not to burst your bubble, but for the last 2 years Nextel hasnt worked in Washington itself. It dies out about 5 miles out of Greenville. Hopefully it'll be different this year, but... |
