N.C. Kilos

Get ready guys all roads head to N.C. for the Kilo's in a few weeks. Truly the worlds fastest boats will be there with SBI,and APBA both running the Kilo's together.SBI has stated in the past that they have the worlds fastest boats, but after Sarasota it should be intersting with some of the outstanding boats APBA has running this year. With the worlds 2 premier orginazations running head to head,WOW this could be interesting.Good luck to all the teams, and see you in N.C.
Don't forget if you need any help with props contact Julie at Throttle-UP,they will be there.Believe me it make a difference without all of Matts help last year in N.C. we would have never broke the Kilo record.Throttle-UP prides themselves at being the best at what they do,and make to mistake they are.
Also special thanks th Tom at Hydromotive for all his support, and hard work the mans middle name is speed. :blaster:

I may be "nutz", but I predict that Shane and Gary clock in at 94.0 mph.

To beat the man, you have to square off with him "face to face". How 'bout it SVL owners?

Re: N.C. Kilos

I dunno it really seems that Kilos really don't mean that much anymore. Other than the Fountain/OuterLimits and Bacardi/Callan rivalry they are kinda pointless. One of the most impressive kilos ot there is Boardmember Ben Perfected at 107 in a NON stepped 30 Scarab Panther. It used to be a big deal every year in Sarasota and it was only like 100 bucks to do it, now it seems like another way to make money at a grand a pop. When they offer the P classes kilo that was when it really lost validity.

Outerlimits xXx boat never raced. How does it qualify to run?

Re: N.C. Kilos

rio roses never ran superboat vee unlimited either, but reggie claims the kilo record. The last year someone ran that class was popeye's fire water, institgator and a few others with the blower motors.

I'm sure that OL has been granted some kind of special double secret probationary invitational qualified status............unless they win.........then they'll be DQ'ed for not being "qualified".

That's classic. I'm sure Reggie isn't inviting Mike to give him a good ass kicking. He must have something up his sleeve, as I'm sure Mike does too.

Hey, as long as it's heads up racing, who cares.

Phantom, will you be there for the Kilo's on Friday Morning? I can't make it.

No Ron, it will be mid-afternoon for me......around happy hour.....coincidence? I think not.

I have been meaning to e-mail you and ask what kind of digital camera you had in Sarasota. I'm researching, and yours looked like a nice one.

Re: N.C. Kilos

In Savannah two years ago at the APBA/UIM kilo there were all kinds of water craft that showed up to run the kilo. My understanding was that running the kilo, even if the watercraft had nothing to do with offshore racing, was an opportunity for a watercraft to have a UIM acknowledged speed record for that specific watercraft. There were some jet skis there as well as some other boats that didn't race offshore. So I guess you could run the kilo in whatever you wanted and say you had a UIM speed record, even if that class doesn't exist.

I am sure someone else could give us more specific rules regarding the kilo than me. I also imagine there are both SBI and APBA rules that will play into this since it is a combined event.
