Default Copeland/Sirois Breakup????

Why did long time, friends Al Copeland and Bill Sirois stop teaming together? They were together for years with the Popeyes team and I think Bill Sirois had a lot to do with the new 50ft popyes, and all its innovations. What ever happened to that Popeyes boat I think it only raced 1 full year?

Al quit racing after a serious snowmobile accident that almost took his life,I do believe that the 50 footer is at Lightning Jacks Marina having turbines installed in it,Al still has some serious play toys though.

Jacks has the original 50 cat, not the Goetz cat with the canopy.

I know that they stoped racing together before Al's back problems, because Al used Bob Idonie and Bill raced with Don Johnson in the Gentry and won the worlds against Al and Popeyes

No it was Bill Sirois that was with Don Johnson, I was there. I think Bill and Al broke up either over safety or engines they were using.

What difference does it make?

Because i have the right to ask, i have been a Popeyes fan since i was a kid and i have heard all the rumors about why they stopped racing together, and would like to know what really happened.
