We are heading out to Grand tomorrow afternoon for the first time. Can some of you regulars give us some info on where to go what to do? I've heard dripping springs Sat, we will be there, but not sure what to do at night. I'm correct that CYC is members only, so I guess that is out, any other suggestions for the newbie. Thanks for the help.

Hookers at Cherokee is members only. If you know a member you can go as their guest but you must have a member with you. For those that are not members, Ugly's bar and grill is usually OK on a Saturday night. They usually have a band and there are a lot of people there. Other than that you can go up to Monkey Island and go bar hopping but I have never been up there so I can't help you out there. There is also Moonies over by the dam but I have not been there since the new owners took over this year. Good luck and welcome to Grand.

If you are staying on the south end then Ugly's is good. They have great ribs on Friday and cold drinks all weekend (try a PINK THANG or an UGLY MARY). Saturday night bands are also normally good also. If you are staying up toward Monkey Island then there are several bars on Monkey Island and they are usually a good time. And Moonie is a greta place for a cold beer but be ready for the toothless locals (they are all really friendly after you order a drink) Welcome to Grand and have a great time!

Hawkfan,
Welcome. The guys pretty well hit it on the head. Fun stuff
to see and do around the lake. Its no Lotto as it relates to
entertainment but is a great place to hang.
Seeing the bling at E Dock is worth the trip
Good luck and be safe

Yep, I have been wondering about that place for a
couple of years. Never been in there but the wifey
was inquiring when we were cruising the cove several
weeks ago.
Thanks for the heads-up.

Thank you all for the info. Where is "E dock" I'll make sure I swing by and take a look
Where are keeping the boat at Honey Creek, so I am not sure what we are close to. I'm guessing we will head to Ugly's or Monkey Island. Thanks again.

Get a map of the lake if you can or find information from
the local newspaper at www.grand-chronicle.com.
Dripping Springs (Gray's Hollow) and Duck Creek (where
the yacht clubs are, hence E Dock) are in the south grand
area about 10-15 miles downstream or about 5-30 minutes
depending on the boat you have
You will see more boat traffic in those areas, but don't be
afraid to ask someone if your not sure.
Go into Duck Creek to access the marinas and Ugly's. Be
mindful of the boat lanes in Duck Creek (stay to the right
of the white center bouys going in and head to the back
to get to Ugly's.
