Friday is the soonest he can be released...he will most likely be in the hospital for another week or two so he can learn how to walk again. The physical therapist has tried to get him to walk a little but he cannot even stand up yet. We figured it would be best to keep him there so the nurses can still assist him with all of his daily needs.

I talked with Dennis yesterday morning and he continues to be in good spirits. He was going to be moved to a PT wing or facility yesterday to start the work of walking again. With two broken legs it doesn't sound like a lot of fun.

That's good news! I was wondering the progress yesterday. Sounds like a long recovery, but it beats the alternative :eek:

thats one of the things we were laughing about yesterday. He got the alternative, had a crash and then came back to life. He had to have the crash to live. So in his mind, a little pain and physical therapy is a small price to pay....

I am home, got here yesterday afternoon. Appreciate the concern, with time everything will be fine. Had 'Sudden Cardiac Arrest', passed out and went off the turnpike @ 75 mph. Doctors said the air-bag popped my heart back into a regulat rhythm. Had to have the wreck to live! Broken leg, screws in the other ankle, broken arm, screws and plates in the forearm and elbow. Had another stent put in heart along with a de-fib to prevent the neccessity of a car wreck to maintain heartbeat. Typing a little slow with one arm, will be in touch.

Dennis, good to hear. I guess that means I have to stop taking out the skater? It doesn't go very fast without the props - but the engines still make a lot of noise :D
