They are asking people to turn in the drivers to the GRDA.

In the photograph above, I’ll let our readers be the judge of just “What the Hell were they thinking?” Most will probably look at the picture and assume these two boats were acting crazy out on the main lake. But this photo was taken well inside the "No Wake Zone” in Grays Hollow this past Sunday.
From accounts provided by those witnessing this bizarre behavior, it was described as harrowing just to watch it. Smaller craft entering the cove must have been in shock to see these two forty-plus foot cruisers barreling towards them at full throttle. Whether this behavior was a result of a disagreement, an ‘ol fashioned drag race on the water or just plain stupidity, this act was extremely dangerous and we’re fortunate no injuries, that we’re aware of, or fatalities occurred.
If there was ever a time to turn in you boating buddy this is it. Though the picture is damning enough, it’s truly regrettable no boat name or numbers are visible for positive boat identification. If any of our readers were witnesses to this dangerous event and have any information regarding the identity of these two craft, I’d urge you to drop me an e-mail. The photo has been forwarded to the lake patrol, but a positive identification would certainly help in initiating some safety training for these morons.
For years, we’ve been a part of promoting good times and good memories on Grand Lake. But on occasion, we’ve also been involved in writing accounts of incidents that ruined lives and generated memories none of us need. Grand Lake has always been one of those great get-a-ways for people from all over, but unfortunately the lake somehow generates an “I’m Invisible” mentality. Those who urinate off a slow idling boats and think it’s fine at the lake, would be the first to file charges if I took a leak on their cul-de-sac in South Tulsa.
What was clearly observed this past Sunday in the drip would be akin to drag racing and doing an imitation of “Bumper Cars” down Memorial Drive in the rush hour(s). What happened was not all right because it was at the lake…..and if we think it was, we need more help than a grand get-a-way is capable of providing. We’re all share owners in this lake and have a responsibility to keep it safe for all to enjoy.
What might have happened Sunday could have been far more tragic than getting sick from the ingestion of some Blue/Green Algae on a holiday weekend. Just as our friends on that cul-de-sac previously mentioned have neighborhood watch groups, the same concept may be needed here on the pond. Let me hear from you!
