Question Island Questions

I am sorta new to Lake Erie boating and wondered if someone here could help me out with a couple questions.
1. I have been to Kelly's Island about 3 or 4 times and docked at the Casino and had to pay $20 or $30 just to slip there and eat. Is this standard, or is there some other place I should or could slip that won't charge if you are just having lunch?

2. What area's are best for slipping at PIB? I have always went all the way to the back of the channel and slipped at the state docks. What other areas are available to the public and how does it work at the ones you radio to. Also I have seen the boats tied off in the water and taking a boat in. How does that work (who do you call & how late do they run)

Any info would be great.

How bigs your boat ? Figure AT LEAST a dollar a foot ..... And don't forget to TIP the kids workin the dock !!!! A little "sugar" goes a long way to getting a dock next time ya go up there and their "almost full" if ya know what I mean

At the bay .... Try B-dock first .... depending on when you go .... you won't have much choice anyway !

If it's not on the weekend .... ya might wanna try The Crews Nest ???

Kellys, 30 ft or less you can get into West Bay. They do not charge.

Put In Bay, the best deal is the mooring balls. The water taxis pick up you up and drop you off etc.

The Crews Nest is $0.75 cents a foot for 3 hours then they charge you overnight dockage. When is the last time you went to PIB and stayed less than 3 hours. .

The Boardwalk at PIB has free dockage Monday-Thursday if you eat something there. We have ate and kept the reciept to show dock help but still had a few beverages at other places.

They also have the Mooring Ball info on their site.

Not sure if they will do it this year but they had free dockage at A&C dock Sunday-Thursday last year April, May, Sept, Oct.

I like staying here at Kellys.
