Kirk, that is an absolutely beautiful engine. Gary Taylor, or Teague, with quad-rotor whipple set-up would be my first choice if I was to re-power. I think you're going to be very pleased with the performance of this package. I'm a little surprised that with your affiliation at Ateco, you didn't have them build your new engine! I know when they rebuilt mine, Bill wasn't a fan of whipple. He thought I should have bolted on what ever type blower B.Z. was using (I'm not sure what brand). I think whipple puts together a great package.
Single engine boats rule!
Congratulations, Woody

Thanks Woody. This had nothing to do with Ateco or Bill. This opportunity came up and I seized it. I bought the Quad Whipple from Gary with the intent to have Bill/Ateco build me a 540 around it. Gary happened to have the long block sitting in his shop complete and we started talking price and I liked what I heard. It was not cheap!!

He has a stellar reputation on the West Coast and I knew him from several years back.

I hope to break 80

P.S. - Whatever BZ does, do the opposite...you ever see those dinghy's he drives around in? Resin buckets that need huge HP.

Happy Holidays!
