Will it be the same weekend this year? At the bay? Have to put in for vacation. Does anyone know? Thanks

I beleive the poker run this year will be in August. Some time around the 11th. We will get the date nailed down soon and post it on the web site.

Dave can you do us a favor, when you settle on the date please have some one post it on OSO. Even if you don't have the details just the date will be fine. Most of us will go where ever the run is but are anxious for the date so they can put in for vacations, schedule other things around it and so forth.

I have talked to some very important people that have indicated they would like to go back to PIB for the run,,, that was not my choice,, :p ,, I ask them to please move the run back to Monroe Boat Club,,,, and gave my reasons ,,, better dockage,, better food ,,, better bar,,,, and great to-gether ness,,,, wellllll ,,,, they still wanted to go to the Bay,,Bar,,,, So ,,, I got to thinking ,,, why not start from Monroe ,,, do the Fri nite deal,,, Leave for Kellys,, on Sat am ,,, then go to the Bay,,, overnite there,, and go back to Monroe on Sun am for awards and Buffet!!!! Great idea,, rite ,,rite,,,, :D :D ---- any other thoughts???

Thats not a bad idea .... other then the fact that it will be tough to get people to go back to Monroe sunday am .... me included ! But .... I like th thought process there "Your Honor"

BTW .... whats the latest on the Sandusky Bay deal in June ?

Its on,,,, weekend of the 23rd of June,,,, Big plans at the Casino,,, some other balls in the air,,, Block the weekend out on your Calendar,,,,

On the Bay thing for LEOPA ,maybe we would not have to leave early on Sun am ,,,, say ,, about 11 or 12 and have a afternoon deal at Monroe ,,,quit around 3-4 and go home ,,,, Just some thoughts ------

I'm not thinkin about the "time" sunday am ..... I'm just sayin that on a nice Sunday .... nobodies gonna leave the Bay , or Kelleys and go to Monroe period . That like cutting a date short with Carrie Underwood to go meet Rosanne Barr ?!?!?! :drink:

I guess we need to get back to the reason for this thread ,,,, I just recieved my Poker Runs mag and they have the LEOPA run the same day as Smoke,,,, I guess the date will be changed at the Meeting on Wed ,, that I cant make!!:( :evilb:

Before everybody gets their shorts up in a bunch it would depend on how many want to attend SOTW.

RHC, the other way to look at it is SOTW will have to change their date.

Let's try this AGAIN

I think it was time to change the run for sure (same ol thing) dont get me wrong it was GREAT but it's time to move forward. I thought the docking was great, food & togetherness well ...I agree with Rodger. What do you think about having breakfast, dinner/party and awards at one of the bars? That way people wouldnt be so spread out. The run out of monroe took time to perfect so let's let them work the bugs out.:drink: :drink:

Yeah,, it would be good to have a common meeting place,,,, It might even be good to use the Yacht Club if it could be worked out,,,, I dont know about the Logistics at the Bay,,, I just think that it was pretty spread out last year!!!

Lord knows it is not easy to get 50 type A 's ot agree on anything ,,,:D :D

The Smoke dates are July 13-14 .... Sounds like LEOPA is gonna be beginning of August this year ???? Right ? Regardless ... you are only talkin about a couple boats that would cause a conflict for anywho .... The Bay was great ... Just need to have something to keep us together for part of the time .... Breakfast place .... Dinner / awards place .... ect .... I know where I'll be Sunday at 1 !:rolleyes: :drink: :evilb:

May I suggest the covered pavillion at The Crew's Nest. It is large with lots of tables. They can cater, we can cook, you can have your own cooler etc. The pool is right there, nice open grass area, quality rest rooms and downtown is a short walk.

It's PIB, it's all about the Benjamins.

sounds like a good idea to me as well, heck they have all the meals at SOTW under a tent. Maybe we can hire a cook and get the steaks from Madcow:D

Keith, the tall guy who works for me, can do the cooking. For beer, a few bucks and a dock he would be in. He is the one who used to do the Pig Roast at he Casino. He could roast a pig. ( Jerry, no comments on who would be roasted).

Sounds good to me, hell I'll even cook! Personaly I'm glad we are going back to the bay. If we would have gone back to Monroe I may have skipped this run. I appreciate all the hospitality MRYC has shown us over the years, but I'm ready for something different.

Please go the meeting or call Joe P with your concerns. Don't wait do it now or it will be too late for them to make changes or utilize your suggestions and offers. Better yet join the Poker Run committee, get involved with the club and help make it a great event!
I believe that the togetherness issue was a huge problem and has been or will be corrected for this years run.

I will be at the meeting and will voice the togetherness concerns as far as the Monroe issue sorry Rodger your on your own:D Too many folks want something different, give it a couple years and it will come back around. I can say one thing when were at Monroe it's a huge coordinated event with the club and their members giving up docks for the weekend. I doubt they would give them up and then loose the cash flow from LEOPA.

thank you, thank you very much, but due to logistics I am sorry to say I have to pass. If I lived closer I would get invloved and help out.

Since the LEOPA powers to be, don't seem want to participate in fourm discussions I think we could use an OSO delegate to LEOPA, I nominate Scott, any one want to second it:D :D
