The boat had 1200's. The seller kept them per our deal. I have a MTI with big power for those days when the urge to go really fast hits me. I wanted a reliable, cool looking 2nd boat. To me this is sort of like a minvan to go the lunch with the wife and not worry about wrenching on it all the time. I have owned too many fast boats that break down. Number Six drives and 525EFI are about as reliable as you can get for power. It is funny all my V-hull friends say the boat will be fast, cat friends think I am a wimp for using such small power.

It will be fast enough for you...vee hull guys (Pantera guys) don't need to impress with fast boats. It's our charming personalities and rugged good looks!!!

What are your expectations for top end with the 525/#6 package?

This may sound funny but I do not really care about the top speed on this boat. I will be happy with 100mph, but more likely it will be 120. The Chain-O-Lakes where we play there are not a lot of boats over 100mph. My last six boats (cats) were 100+ and seldom ever was passed. I really just want a nice looking boat that my wife and I can cruise around and not scare the heck out of her by telling her to close the hatch, put on the seat belts and hang on like the other boat.

I was at the Chain of Lakes for a Poker Run Sam Baker put on a few years back. Nice Lake! 100 in a 32 should be enough for that lake. I'm just interested in the project because that is what I always wanted to do. I like the idea of a "bullet proof" set-up. 500hp's or 525's with #6's are perfect!

Keep us posted!

I was at the Poker Run. We ran the 30'Motion with triple 280's rigged by Baker Marine.

Are you adding a standard exhaust tip and attaching your tails with rubber hoses? Probably better to have the pipe solid through the transom and have the hose well above the water line just in case.

I wouldn't mount them solid like the mock up, you need rubber in there somewhere.

There will be exhaust tips just like a Bravo setup with a tail to rubber to transom tip. The mockup is just to give me an idea of the exit location. I want them underwater just like a direct drive cruiser boat. My goal is to have the tips about 4" under water at idle. The tips will have flaps to prevent reversion backing up. On plane it will free flowing.

Hopefully I won't sink.
