According to local paper, there is a local group planning a WWII amphibious landing on St Joe's north beach. Date June 20-22, lots of events planned. The beach invasion is scheduled for Sat, 21st at 10am-noon. The landing will be predceeded by simulated bombing runs by vintage B-17's & B-25's.
Might be fun to watch from the water.
Other events include a military aircraft show at airport and rides on a UH01H Huey, and a military parade.
There will also be a military vehicle parade and re-eacted "skirmishes" with Russian, German and US troops.
There is a local group of vets who have been leading historical/educational continuing ed classes, that have been well attended.

That sounds really cool. I would love to see that. I am a big WWII buff and after going to Normandy and walking the beach and all the other stuff it has only sparked my interest more.
If you ever have the chance to go to Normandy DO IT! But you need atleast a week there to see everything. The D day museum in New Orleans is cool also.

Link to website, sounds like its going to be a big deal. 600-800 people involved in beach head re-enactment. Again being on a boat should offer "best seat in the house"
