Yes there are some that have taken my class up there but I dont think they visit Forums. Tres Martins is the driving Authority and is Reconized and endorsed by almost all companies. I will be putting on a class there this year just dont have it on the calendar yet. Are you in?????

Tres 03-06-2009 01:24 PM

OK Here is what we can possibly do. April 9-10 April 13-14 or May 4-5 or May 26-27 That is the the earlist I can do.

minxguy 03-06-2009 04:05 PM

In April there is a good chance of still having ice on the bays.
River may be open, but too much debris floating down river.

Ken

t-islands 03-06-2009 04:37 PM

I would be interested but not in April/May.

Also looks like the ice is clearing already.

June?

RaggedEdge 03-07-2009 06:52 AM

April up here would be early, way too much junk floating to be safe. You often can get on the water that early but you need to be very aware of the junk, not the time for high speed runs. By later in May most often things have cleared out and you would be ok.

I would be interested if it was the hands on course. And yes I could have my own boat there. So how would this work if there was a group of people interested and willing to sign up? I understand there is the "classroom" part of the course, my question here would be how the on water part would work for those interested in that as well.

Little side question, some more info on those 4b Herrings you have listed for sale? Are they right for a Fountain?

t-islands 03-07-2009 11:04 AM

June would much better for me. I would even be willing to use my docks for a staging area if that would help.

Hands on is the ways its done. Just you guys agree on a date because the calendar get full easy. in June I have May 30- June 1 or June 15-16.or June 30-July1.

Tres 03-13-2009 07:43 AM

OK people, I have given some dates and Options, Dont wait untill the last minute to start planning a date. The June Calendar is going to be set in these next 2 weeks.

n20michael 03-13-2009 01:16 PM

We would have to figure out whether it was in your own boat or "Tres" boat?, if its in our own boats then EVERYONE would have to be able to get there boat there for the specific weekend, what do you guys think?

RaggedEdge 03-13-2009 07:08 PM

Been wondering what was up with this.

To start with there is no "Tres Boat", so I am informed, it is your boat or no boat. Something that I was not aware of prior but now understand the reasoning for. Timing for me would make no diff at all. I'm here and the boat is in a boathouse slip in ABay all season. My thought would be his "Ultra" course, but that could be open for discussion here.

My achilles heel here is simply that I would like to know what I get in terms of the "hands on" or "on water" portion of the course for the money it costs. I just don't seem to be able to get an answer on that. For some reason when I ask it would seem that Tres takes my question as some sort of shot at his deal, which it never has been. He's selling a product, I'm just looking for some more info on the product he's offering. Maybe someone can chime in and provide the info. I'd be in if I'm convinced that I can sharpen my skills.

camptappakeg69 03-13-2009 07:58 PM

Is there a minimum boat size? Would it be worth it for me to take the class with a 25'.

laszlo01 03-14-2009 07:35 AM

I have the may 18 & 19 date set for the MI course, one day class room second day in water with your own boat, talked to a few A/T guys about the class and they highly recomend it, the in water portion is very hands on and not easy but I am told it is a must for anybody looking to learn how to really drive your performance boat. I will have my 37 A/T there for the in water portion.

How many people are in your group? How much time do you actually get "one on one" with Tres in your boat?

Can I ask what you mean when saying the in water portion is "not easy" ?

laszlo01 03-15-2009 08:17 AM

I will let you know after the class but I am told you learn some very aggressive maneuvers, cant wait for the class. Heard nothing but great things from the A/T cult guys.

TWIN-SPINS 03-15-2009 12:32 PM

where in michigan are the classes held???

laszlo01 03-15-2009 08:19 PM

heater63 03-19-2009 07:42 PM

I have docks you all could use.You can swim to the boat launch its so close.I would probably be interested depending on the cost.there are also hotels within walking or swimming distance.let me know what you guys come up with for a date, and if were not racing that weekend I would get involved

Both courses are available at the same time. Your boats speed determines which course you will be in.

What do you have for a boat? I see you're interested in the HP version as well. Are you also in the Alex Bay area?

Orange boat, in a lift over around the lost channel area?

No, I have never talked to anyone who has taken the course. I'v been looking on here to see if there were any other threads that might have some comments but just don't find much in the way of what actually makes up the course. Lots of when and where threads but that's about it.

I would be willing to spend the money for the experience, but I'm one of those people who would like to know what it's all about.

Ahhhhh, nice boat. I'v seen it on the water a number of times as well. Very nice!

Tres 03-30-2009 07:47 AM

Look guys I am posting the web site link to answer all you questions, I do not check these forums all the time since I have to travel alot, and I am not the big computer guy! www.performanceboatschool.com Go on the regular forum and ask who has taken the course, or in our site look at the testimonials. The course price is based on the boat speed of the current boat you would be bringing to use to do the on water portion and that is what you would be certified for.
