Who's going to be at Torch Lake for the 4th of July ???:evilb:

We plan on being around the GTB/Elk Rapids/Torch Lake area for the 4th weekend....but I won't be bringing my boat. I will probably check into renting a pontoon on Torch.

We will be up the week end of the 24th.

We'll be there!! Going up on Thursday evening.

Planning on being there Fri and Sat! :evilb:

I will be there all weekend! running the lil power play at 110%

Anyway, we rented a house for the weekend at Shuss Mountian right on a golf course putting green....very tranquil setting. Never saw the Torch Lake sand bar so busy. Got a quick glimpse as we drove over the bridge.

We walked around a bit and stood on the dock at the little party store on the river to watch all the boats go by.....saw a 40' Skater come by. There was a TON of boating traffic on the river....woah!!

Drove to Elk Rapids, the peninsula, etc. Had a nice relaxing time.....but would have been nice to be on the water.

Hey Mark did we fall in lust did we???? The 40 skater put in at Luhrs, plate on the trailer said illinois,Josh saw it in the river I never did.Any idea who's it was?? I did not get out on the water till sun.

A lil cold out there with that North wind blowing all weekend. Big party out there on the 18th..

Had a great time! much beverage consumed and the sand bar was busier than ever! Burned a lot of wood at the fire and only a couple small problems on two boats. Oh and we did miss the "gay pride" magnet this year also! LOL :evilb:

Any pics I hear that lake is very nice. How big is it?

About 20 miles by 5 miles wide. No pics yet still need to upload them......:drink:

I went up Friday and Saturday. Tore the lake up on Friday with that "gentle breeze" coming out of the north. :D Til my girl told me to slow down cause her boobs hurt! LOL Put on about 70 miles.

Saturday we just beached it on the sandbar and had a great time. I think that was the busiest I have ever seen the sandbar. Lots of young honeys running around! :evilb:

That looks pretty nice. How far is it from Toledo Ohio?

Pictures don't do it justice. Much nicer in person. I'd guess just under 300 miles away give or take a few.

Rick......you didn't get out on the water until Sunday??? And isn't Luhr's that gas dock that sits right on the water (Torch River) where you keep your boat?

Ya it sucked,spent sat. at chicken barby in Alden next to the bar(8am to 9pm)setin up flipin chicks then cleanin up.Fund rasin for the fireworks...Yep,Luhrs is half way down torch river on the west side.Zach had his 35 fountain anchored from sat. morn to sun. late afternoon on the bar,Josh tryed but boats were backed up almost to Luhrs waiting to get out to torch so he just spent the day on the little sand bar on elk...Mark,you dont know who's 40 skater that was do ya???

The 40' Skater that you guys are talking about was the Blue one? I also saw a white/Black/Red one going past Dockside on Saturday. We gave the guys with the 43 Nortec a hand on Friday (I think) with launching their boat at the day park (not very easy with boats over 37'). Any idea where they got it out at? I haven't seen that many big $$$ boats on Torch before.

Boat is awesome, we saw you around mid lake and you were running it pretty good. Bill in the yellow DCB was behind you by just a little!!!

Im heading up to torch this weekend...i heard that the water cops ticketed a guy for loud exhaust is this going on now or was it that he was being an idiot and they wanted to get him off the water?

I would say just use your big head.........and you should be OK

Can you guys recommend a marina for a weekend stay on Torch Lake that can accomdate a 38 foot boat?

I not familiar with every marina in and around Torch Lake, but Torch River Marina can accomodate a 38' boat quite easily....but you would have to call ahead because they are ALWAYS booked solid. Or you could try DeWitt's Marina on the Clam Lake/River...I would call ahead with them too, but I think your chances will be better with DeWitt's than Torch River Marina.

Rick aka 26sxl lives and works around Torch Lake....he can tell you much better than me.

18 miles long, avg about 1.5 miles wide. Cold and beautiful water.
