Default Toronto Boat Show 2012 - Worthwhile?

Been going for quite a few years and just not as interested this year....

For those who've gone, anything really cool, new or interesting worth checking out?

I went for a few hours monday. Depends what you are looking to see, but if you are like most of us then it was far from impressive. There was a 27 eliminator with a new 8.2, and a nortech 390 cc. Those were probably the 2 fastest boats there. There were some cool things there. An old school steamer, and dare I say it a pretty cool wood electric boat that you could actually ski behind. I got some free tickets and I had to talk to someone there, so I went, and I am going with my brother Friday. But if I actually had to pay the $18 to get in and $15 to park, it is nothing that you could not see in any marina in Toronto. The same boats as always, but this year I did not see one really fast boat (usually there has been one MTI or another fast cat), nothing this year. However, the Nortech is impressive, I saw it last year at the Lauderdale boat show, but did not get a great look at it. Damn that boat is fine.

Same sh&t different year.

I have been going and haven't missed a show in over two decades! Three years ago Formula had a 38 footer there and Cobalt had the same boat that they showed three years in a row. This year the only boats worth looking at were the Chris Crafts. Show is ok if your looking for a mom & pop bow rider, or a cabin cruiser or ...dare I say it.......................a blow boat.

Last year I met a vendor who manufactured really cool bumpers for the docks. I purchased two of them and this year he was a no-show? I wanted to buy four more...

If you need an inverter or advice on electrical there were good techs available for questions. I got some good advice from the dealers tables in many catagories.

I give the show a 6 out of ten.

I'll be at the Miami show next month.

I went on Wednesday, mid day, was pretty good, but, there was NOTHING in the way of Big HP boats, I would LOVE to go to the Miami show, maybe one year.
