Default Venetian Marine rack storage

I'm considering rack storage this season and would like some feedback on Venetian Marine in Sandusky, Oh. I am worried about security and lifting and storing a stepped hull boat.
Thanks, Steve

What is your yard art possibly going to see water? Just go to skipper buds it probably gets to rough between cedar point and bay point for you anyway. Lol

We have been racking our 38' TG there for about 12 years already... They always to a good job... There are a few step bottoms also racking there. I think they do a great job mitigating risk associated with racking a stepped boat.. Knock on wood we have had no security problems with the rack boats. If you do decide to rack there, Pick up my sister on your way up.. She lives in pickerington and works in lancaster... I take it that boat is to big for buckeye...

Great place to be. Spent tons of time at Venetian and my buddy's dad used to own Vacation Land which was their next door neighbor until Archie Lang bought them.
I remember when the canal out of Sandusky Bay to RT. 2 was so narrow/shallow we used to dig up mud in our 13' Whalers when it was on Rt. 6.
Sure was simpler when Mom and Dad were paying our bills

Years ago went for a tour and I would have racked there but no room. Ended up at Skipper Buds/Marina Del Isle.

Lifting a stepped hull can be a challenge. The operator really needs to know what he is doing.

Thanks for the response. kjm, we docked at Marina Del sle/Skipper Buds for many years with our cruisers and were happy till the change over. I think C.S. has went down since along with up keep. I have tried to get info from Kathy since last summer but kept getting the runaround. Finally talked to her last week and was told they could rack us but our boat was to big for a transient slip :??????????? If we wanted a slip on the weekends we would have to lease a slip on B-dock. Have you had any problems docking on the weekends there?
Thanks, Steve

It seams that there is always a slip/dock that can be used at venition.. It might be far out on the finger but. Normally there is always a dock to use.

I never had an issue docking. They always handle my request.

I have only been there since it has been owned by Skipper Buds and all my concerns were always satisfied.

Through out the years, I've racked at four marina's and they all have pro's and con's.

Thanks for the reply guys. J-Bonz How is Venetian about letting you clean and service your boat? Do they have a work rack to set the boat on when they pull it so it can be cleaned before being placed on it's permenent rack, or can you work (clean) the boat on it's permenent rack?
kjm how does Skipper Buds handle cleaning your boat? Do they place it on a work rack or take it directly to the storage building?
Thanks again, Steve
