Ohh AJ dear, where am I making excuses for anyone? As I stated in the post your quoting both were turning a step hulled boat too fast in too shallow of water.
Why are your panties in such a bunch? Did you not get enough love seat time brainiacing with Daddy's boy over the weekend? It's all good, just discussing the picture of damaged hull. Chill out dude! :lolhit: IT'S JUST THE INTERNET! Sheesh!

Unfortunately fish and I spent our weekend apart.... I did however spend the day Saturday tied off with 1 of the few decent sunsation guys in Michigan. http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...0/IMAG0006.jpg

how many times are you going to re-word the same response? Come back with some valid points or at least some originality... otherwise ---> :7160:

I am sure orders will just poor in with the two of you knowing everything about boats. Then offer your own driving class and put Tres out of business. I mean after reading all your inputs, nobody would go elswhere for a boat or driving instruction. KID, I will place an order on haul #1..:lolhit:

I agree with AJ's statment but I do know the owner/driver and he is not a squid. IMO he has always been a good captain and has never put himself or his passengers in harms way. That said I don't think is likely he knew how shallow it was if that was a contributing factor to the accident.

I don't know him but I trust your word (your one of the only guys that posted on my threads on the Sunny forum). S$$t can happen and it does to the best of us. I grounded my drive (hard) over by the moot also. It was in a area that was normally "safe" for my boat and been there before many times last year with no problem. I was lucky that day and did no damage, wish this guy could say the same thing. So glad nobody got hurt! It sucks about his boat it look soooo nice! Any boat is going to sustain that kind of damage at those speeds. We all just need to remember we are not invincible in our bad ass loud boats!

I've been grounded at the same spot. I am so glad noone was hurt and it wasn't me. I havn't been to the moot yet this year but from some of the stories I have heard I will take it wide and follow the markers in. We will be out thus weekend. Hit me up...

POWERPLAY J 06-20-2012 08:49 PM

So is the guy you know with the molds the same guy I know from Holland? Ex Skater dude??? Hmmm...

Sunrocket24 06-20-2012 08:59 PM

I think we should start a new thread with pictures showing what "production" boats have the hull and deck glassed together. I'm talking straight from the showroom floor and not somebody that bought a boat that was a "factory" race boat and then started using it as a recreational boat. I have been in and out of my 22 year old POS and I don't think the hull and deck were glassed together. I am willing to remove some interior panels the next few days to get some pictures of the hull/deck joint. Is anybody else up for this????

THE 288 KID 06-20-2012 09:09 PM

The mold my buddy has is a mysterious 18-19ft ish cat. Came out of a barn in Wisconsin somewhere. Not a lot is known about it. We actually were talking to Joe about it at Brown's weeks back.

Maybe Corey can con Wayne into laying one up for him and this can he his new ride? Should draft a lot less than his sunny so he can haul ass in the moot SAFELY!

That picture is scary, Plexus is supposed to be stronger than glass if applied properly. There looks to be areas that had no contact and you can see where the screws ripped through. Sorry I don't care if he hit a seawall there is no way a hull and deck should ever separate like that.

Mykalvballer 06-20-2012 09:57 PM

Not a mod on OSO... but say I was.. i would have issues with folks bashing boats/drivers after an accident. I know these two guys from the Sunsation Forum, and for someone who use to own a sunsation (kid) and bought another named boat to come on sunsations forum just to talk crap and bash the owners and product is nothing less than disrespectful. Thus my comments on here, to joke about an accident in any means is just not right.
Patrick builds a great boat, best ridding boat I have been in after taking a ride on the Active Thunder during the boat show, but if the boat was crap, I still would never join the active thunder site to talk trash and bash the company.

THE 288 KID 06-20-2012 10:28 PM

I've been very civil on there site since selling my sunny. I still want a f4 one day. I love Michigan and things made here. I called on quite a few dominators, but guess what, people think they're worth there weight in gold.

Had to go the a/t route, as just as you stated they are built right, ride awesome and truely are "exactly like nothing else" LOL

A/T is the best ridding rough water boat, and I would love to have one if it were avail in stag config. Pat said it would be too much to deal with to make the changes. Kid, sure you boat rides awesome with the blue motors, nice ride..have fun....

I also know of a present situation where a 32 owner (had bought 3 or 4 New Sunnys such as yourself) was told to shove his crumbling boat up his ass. Where's his customer service?
