My dad was a lover not a fighter. For all I know he banged all your moms and we are all brothers.. Two taps/a bar, pool table, big screen, margarita machines and food in the pantry. Way better than how I'm living.:evilb: |

Had a similar experience there looking at 288s before I had the PP, even in the depths of recession they were worth 50-100% over book on that forum.......and they definitely weren't my first choice.:party-smiley-004:

I'd take either! Both great boats. But then I'm not running around a forum crying and whining like a little 13 year old schoolgirl with a silly little adgenda so what would I know. :evilb::evilb:

I agree, at 45-55mph you are drawing to much water and the drive(s) are too deep. The trick is too increase speed so you have less boat and prop in the water. In fact, WFO seems to work best.

I did a bunch of work to the boat over the winter and got way behind. I'm hoping to do a shakedown run on the boat tonight and if all goes well I should be heading to Torch tomorrow. If it doesn't go well I may just say fawk it and hop in a buddy's Checkmate.

[QUOTE=ajfisher;3710141]I was simply poking fun at the fact that every dominator that rolls just happens to come apart like a pretzel:lolhit:
I don't understand why you or any of the other naysayers on this thread think that it is unreasonable for any boat to have some type of damage after a stuff, spin out, rollover etc. and especially if the boat goes down. The boats have to be turned over and pumped out and then lifted out by a hoist with who knows how much water still in them. I see that you have a Powerplay now....I am a big fan of their boats but maybe you have not been around the boards long enough to recall the very tragic accident where a 33 Powerplay apparently stuffed and as a result of the accident 4 of the 5 passengers on boat were killed. The boat was pretty much destroyed with most of the deck and bow blown off. I don't care who the manufacturer is if a boat spins out, has a rollover or stuffs at a certain speed, angle etc. there is a good chance damage is going to result from it and people will most likely get hurt. I have listed a link below to the story on the accident. http://www.naplesnews.com/photos/gal..._marco_island/ |
Nice boat AJ. Congrats...

33 powerplay integrity has been questioned!
O, o, o! Do mine next do mine next! |

O, o, o! Do mine next do mine next! There were 2 PP's (1 race, 1 pleasure) that were involved in fatal accidents. Both were suspect of hitting the bottom after they were stuffed at high speed and blew apart. |

For those of us not familiar, what was the speed and conditions of this?

You can look at the report if you want but from what I recall reading they said a fisherman was the only witness and he said they were running at a high rate of speed....the boat had 496 HO's in it. I'm not going to get into a pissing contest on this I was just trying to point out that if any boat flips, stuffs or rolls there is a good chance it is going to be damaged....I didn't talk about Powerplay's integrity. The Chicago group that we boat with is a pretty diverse group....with Outerlimits, Baja's, Cigs, Scarab's, Sonic's, Fountain's, Profiles and Sunsations all of which I like.

No pizzing contest. I've stuffed mine twice and being a foam boat you better believe the two other accidents went thru my mind. Kinda like the many step boat I ride in each season when we go into a turn. Just get that uneasy feeling...

Hilarious SC288! Been there. My buddy at 18 had a MC Prostar 205 and he would either pin me against the side or I would go flying the other way, a few times so hard it would pop the winshield from the tracks! Ahh to be young and dumb again... lol

I'll post a thread up on PowerPlay when i get some new pics Thursday |
LOL, you guys crack me up, this thread has certainly been entertaining!
One thing I can attest to, the moot is really shallow this year. Had a hell of a time getting out of there on saturday, not knowing my way around. Just could not find a spot deep enough to get on plane, idled damn near all the way out. |
