Injector service needed in southeastern Michigan

My 496 is in need of fuel injector cleaning and service, I believe..... I have always battled the dreaded 496 soot issue.. However, I see a lot of unburnt fuel in the water behind my boat when at idle.. Also I have been dealing with a miss or sputter when getting up on plane at mid throttle. If I give it 3/4 to full throttle when getting up on plane it seems fine. Also there is a hole in the throttle, where at low speed as I increase throttle, there is a point where my rpm drops, then as I increase throttle it will pick back up. I think my injectors are beginning to drip fuel at low rpm. I think this is also adding to the already rich condition the 496 is under (by design).
Are there any companies local to the Detroit metro area (I am in the downriver area) that I can drop my injectors off for cleaning, testing, and service. There are quite a few companies online that do it for around $17-$20 an injector. I would prefer to spend my money local if at all possible. Plus I don't want to ship them if I can avoid it. That just takes more time and money...... I want to minimize down time... Thanx in advance for any suggestions!

Look up Superior Diesel and Injection, there is one right off US-23 at exit 1, and there is also some detroit area stores. I beleive it is only $10 a injector and they come with a new cup and screen.

I followed you threads with the running rich issues you been having..
I dont believe you have a problem with your injectors..been a GM master tech for about 27 years now and been at the same GM Chevy dealer for 27 of those years..we never see any issues with injectors on the 8.1..the pulse width on your injectors is controlled by the ecu from data it receives from numerous sensors..such as map,temp,tps ..I think at the end you will find the cause been something else other than injectors..BUT I have been doing this long enough to never say never..
I think what you need to do is find a shop that has the tools/scaners and a tech that know how to read the data and diagnos your problem because your just going to keep throwing money/time at it without really knowing what the real issue is..
