Won't be at Rice Lake there Michael, but there is a FREE!!! Poker Run at Port Credit this weekend and you can bet your boots I'll be there!
Weather is supposed to be great and I heard throught the rumour mill the event is totally free. No admission charge and even the supper is supposed to be free.
I heard some rumblings about Bill from PRA being pissed at others planning events on his scheduled weekends so he is doing this out of spite and to draw big boats away from these other events?

I heard there is a poker run this year! They have a boat show every year, I guess they added a poker run, very cool! Once again, if you know anyone selling crew spots, let me know please!
My boat is still buried on Wolfe Island, so, I would have to drive down, haul it back all the way to Port Credit, then back down to the Island, thought it might be easier to just buy a crew spot if anyone is selling.
Not sure about other events? I know that LOTO's shootout is this weekend, but, I cant see anyone missing that to go to Port Credit, but, if its FREE [and MUCH closer] its something to consider!
Thanks for the update!

Michael when is the Rice Lake event?
I must have mixed it up with the Orrilia or whatever was taking place up north???
If Rice lake is in Sept I think I want to go...
By the way...yesterdays gathering was awesome! we only had a dozen boats but we had a great run! Went around the horn of the lake to Dalhousie, did a short boat parade and pee stop in the harbour and headed straight across for a fabulous lunch.
ALL FREE!

Michael, definitely try to get to Rice Lake. I just got back from PBC's Lake Simcoe Run.
PBC puts on a a fantastic event, has great food and still manages to donate a bunch of money to charity.
Alec Cloke was a phenomenal host, and everyone I met was super. No BS ego's no BS anywhere.
Stinger, I think you may have your info a little mixed up. PRA is the biggest date poacher in the industry and I'm glad you enjoyed your "free" run and lunch. Just remember it came on the backs of all of the boaters who paid for a PRA run this year. I'd rather see them donate the money they spent on 12 boats who wouldn't cough up a few hundred dollars, to charity, than a free lunch.

The LOTO shootout was the same weekend too, busy weekend!
Stinger, I believe the Rice Lake run is the weekend AFTER labour day every year, its the "Bruce Nichol" Memorial.
Sounds like the Toronto AND the Lake Simcoe runs where both good times, I would have gladly attended either one, I put a post on the PBC's website asking about for anyone selling crew spots to let me know, but, haven't heard anything yet.....
Hopefully weather is good, its one of the last events of the year, where did summer go??? LOL

I don't get into the politics of it..............
Sunday however was the Easter Seals boat ride day and many yaghts participated. The kids however wanted to go on the go-fast boats so we obliged willingly and took out many handicapped kids. The even was actually over at 2:30 on Sunday but we stayed till past five as so many kids wanted rides.
Glad to help out and we made many kids smile that day.
