Default 8 boats burned, 2 separate fires caused during shrink wrap

There were two separate fires on Sunday that resulted in at least 8 boat being destroyed.... One in Chesterfield at Anchor Bay Marina. The other one was at Wyandotte Yacht Club. I stopped in at WYC this morning and took some photos. I will post later this evening. From what I was told this morning, one man was taken to the hospital for burns to his leg (owner of one of the boats that was destroyed). Both fires appear to have been started during the shrink wrapping process. I guess the lesson to be learned here is if you are not a professional, this might be one job that you need to step away from. The additional savings of doing it yourself isn't worth the risk of destroying your boat and others....... An older Cigarette Top Gun was a casualty in the WYC fire........

Seen a photo on the news of the fire in Chesterfield Township but not the one at the Wyandotte Yacht Club. Everyone please be careful if you are shrink wrapping your boat or call a Professional. That's what I do, let the pro's do it but accidents can still happen to a pro but less explaining as to the fire. Hope the injuried boater is not severly burned and has a speedy recovery. Hell of a way to end the boating season.

Yes, and yes.... It sits in the water most of the season. And yes it does or did have a bow rail. As far as I can tell it was pretty much an original boat.

Only one person was hurt, but it was minor burns (one of the boat owners) from what I was told.

Wow I would be bummed if my Cig got damaged... looks like a 38 flatdeck, no idea why it has a rail like that, someone added that I bet.. no clue why...

FUNNY STORY! The Cig was Ted's, he owns Italian pizza restaurants around the area and has a smokin hot "escort" 19 yr old Girlfriend Brittney!

Kristy and I were on a cruiser trip July 2011 from Lake Erie headed back north to TC. Just passed Grosse Isle and the Starboard engine started running rough, while a storm was rolling in. we were trying to make it to Detroit but lost the engine. Its started pouring rain out, canvas was NOT on yet, and I was trying to steer a rudder straight drive boat into the Wyandotte Yacht Club, on One engine! We Docked and put canvas up. Saw some people hanging in these huts they built in the parking lot behind their boats. One hut had a fridge, freezer, tables, chairs, couches, ceiling fan, etc. That was Ted's. He is obviously a Baller! I walk over soaking wet and ask if there is a Marine parts store within walking distance. Ted say's to Brittney "you take him in my truck". He says to me, She will take you if you bring your girl over here for trade! LOL! So I get Kristy and she sits and chats while Brittney takes me to the parts store. On the way Brit explains how she is "with" Ted and that hes a good guy. Hes like 90! Well I wrench on the boat for a couple days and Ted treats us like Kings. He orders in food for half the marina every night, delicious food from his Restaurant, offers us to stay on his cruiser because my A/C plugged up with Seaweed, but I fixed it, etc etc, A really good guy that like to swear alot! Yes the Cig had a bow rail. He said it went 100mph! LOL. Plus he has/had a 40ft sea ray. Ted could easily be in the Mafia, who knows, just not a guy you would want to mess with thats for sure! Brittney's reason she had to leave a few times "to take care of my grandma" which in escort world prob means "see the next customer". She spent a lot of time there though. So Ted must be paying for the "girlfriend experience" loook it up pretty interesting stuff! What an adventure!
