Default Lake Erie boating in January

My boat is in my heated garage I did not winterize, I am temted to go out for a run tomorrow. High is supposed to be low 60s. Friends think this would be nuts?? No docks at ramps either. Hey I could leave trailer in the water waiting for pull out. Plus no ramp traffic.

Would be cool just to be able to claim it. If no ice, why not.

+1. I've been out when snow was falling. Kinda surreal.

Depends on the water levels. Over at the west end we are at least 4 feet low, maybe more.

I am in Buffalo. I thought the same thing. But if something goes wrong there is no help on the water already.

and probably no insurance if there is a dated lay up period in your policy... that would be one $$$$ call if the CG or whoever had to come.

That said, there was a guy riding his Harley the other day in a snowmobile suit weaving around the few icy patches on the otherwise dry pavement - something to see with the snow banks on the side of the road from plows earlier in the week
