Offshore Powerboat Racing in MI and Ontario
OPA Offshore Power Boat Association 2013 race schedule for Michigan and Ontario CA.
July 19-21 (tentative)
Heritage Coast Offshore Grand Prix on Tawas Bay
East Tawas, MI
July 26-28
St. Clair River Classic
St. Clair Michigan
August 9-11
International Offshore Powerboat Race
Port Huron, MI and Sarnia, Ontario
I know it's a little early to start thinking about boating but for most of us it's never too early!!
During these events the cities and local sponsors put on a great show with something to do for whole family!
Dry pits open on Friday and remain open for the entire weekend. Saturday is testing day and Sunday is race day!!
Offshore powerboat racing is making a come back in Michigan and Ontario due to all of our dedicated fans, sponsors, municipalities and OPA. Many of our races have an attendance of more than 50,000 amazing fans!!
Come early and visit the pits, talk with the drivers and team members (they love to talk about boats) and you never know you may be racing your boat before you know it!!
Thank you for all your support and we all look forward to seeing you at the RACES!!!

Hi Steve!
As a race fan I haven't missed a race at the St. Clair River Classic for over a decade and have attend both of the Port Huron/Sarnia International Offshore Powerboat Races. Where else can you bring the family for a great weekend or day to watch some great racing and meet the racers and their Teams with no admission charge, (FREE)? Nowhere that I am aware of. Cograt's on buying the PFE boat of Gary Cook and Rick Kotecki. I understand that you and your son will be racing together this year and want to wish you and your Team good luck and look forward to meeting you at the races.

Hi Andy
Thanks for your thoughts! Yes, both my son and I are very excited for the upcoming season. The PFE boat certainly has been around the course a few times so hopefully she'll treat us right. Currently she is getting a little nip and tuck, that old girl has been road pretty hard by the PFE team. I did speak with Gary today and he said that you've not only been a great fan but more like an offshore racing ambassador.
Anyways thanks again and please stop by the pits at the next race!!

Gary is talking about going to class 5 I'm not sure what brand his new boat is but it looks like a Joker but I don't think it is. It will be very competitive in 5 and if you know Gary he's alway got something up his sleeve.
