Who has had issues and where were you? I have heard Higgins Lake is getting bad. What about the larger lakes? Most of our boating will be done on Lake Huron/Saginaw Bay/Saginaw River this year. I am modifying my ST platform to add straight exhaust but will still have the option to add the screw in mufflers if it's too loud for the family.

Fischan..I am going to ultimately lose the ST platform for thru hull exhaust and an aluminum platform in the future I believe..for this season though I think I am going to cut out the baffles and drill some 4" holes in the bottom of the platform..from what I have read it gives you better flow when running but still muffles the sound a bit when idling up river since the holes are under water..just a thought..and the pics of your exhaust leak and damage now has me concerned about my boat..I have a leak as well from PO being a bad boat handler..its on the list of things to do but that just got bumped up a few notches

I would check it after seeing what can happen! I'm glad I caught it when I did. There is a MSD spark box mounted on the transom right where the starboard leak was, not sure if it's related or not but the PO said he was running LOTO last summer when the box died! One would think it may have been cooked from the radiant heat through the transom. He said it was a $750 part to get back on the water.
