PIB, Casino, CP July 20th weekend?
 

My "crew" wants to travel this summer, and PIB got the unanimous vote. Wondering if July 18th-21st would be a good or bad weekend? Any events going on?

The plan would be to leave early Thursday morning. Get the boats in and hit CP park Thursday afternoon evening. Then just general boating Friday and Saturday. We want to hit the hot spots like PIB and KI, or anything else you suggest.

Where is the best place to tie up for the night? Shore power is a plus but not needed. Morning showers...needed. We like to tie up where there is "life" for the end of the night, we are not the quiet type :lolhit:

That weekend is XMas in July at PIB, very crowded. It is also Thunderfest Poker Run by LEOPA. The Run is filling up fast, check it out on Facebook "Lake Erie Offshore Performance Association" or go to their website. Also reserve your dock now, no matter what your plans are. You might still be able to find rooms on the islands, choices are thinning out.

We are going to middle bass that weekend we have a group of 6-8 boats with docks reserved and Chris and the Saber group are doing their rally there too, we are meeting up with them. They have 5-6 more boats coming too. We plan to do some boating together. Like voodo said reserve a dock heard they were filling up. If you go to the public docks at the bay you really can't boat because they will not hold your dock, if you leave someone else will take it.

Middle Bass is better if you want to be able to come and go all weekend.

As was said, once you get to the dock at PIB, you are pretty much there for the duration.

Wow. That bad huh? So if we were to just wing it and come out its safe to say we wouldn't find a home at dusk? That just sounds crazy.

People dock all weekend without moving their boats?

Just saw you are from new York two of the boats with us are coming from new York, 88bullet and I think it is like cig92 , Kevin. We have docks from Thursday till Sunday, I think Kevin is Friday till Sunday though. Sounds like a good weekend though, alot of boats. Middle bass island is right behind put in bay and they run a small ferry back and forth between south bass and middle bass. If you reserve a dock at middle bass no one will be walking all over your boat and you can come and go as you wish. The marina is new and pretty nice and has floating docks and shower facilities. I think the number is 419-285-0311. The only bad thing is they want alcohol kept on boat, they don't like it on the dock.

That might be an option. I don't know 88bullet personally, but is cig92 the guy with the 37 Stillettto? If so we have mutual friends, and they are coming.

Where is the party at? We are not the quiet types.

I am thinking we are gonna stay at CP marina Thursday night, but after that who knows?

Does middle bass have bars and night life?

Does KI have dock space that can be reserved? Is it safe to say that KI is the night life capitol, or is that somewhere else?

PIB is the party island.

Middle Bass has PF Walleyes (bar) that is right by the marina, nice place, lagoon bar but not sure how it is late, they also have Hazards but it sucks. The Sunny S ferry runs from MBI to PIB until about 1 AM or so, so you can go over to PIB, and then catch the last ferry back to MBI.

Kelley's has Portside Marina, right beside The Casino, I think there you can get a dock and have it all weekend, so you can come and go as you like as well. There is also a marina to the east of the Casino, but I forget what that ones is called.

As was said MBI has all new docks, new marina, and is one of the nicest ones around.

You could also stay at Cedar Point all weekend, and run around from there as well. It's not that far of a run to PIB, Kelley's or MBI from there. Just be careful if you run back to Cedar Point at night, the lights can be distracting.

You could also get mooring balls over at PIB, but with it being Christmas in July weekend, ever those could be in short supply.
