I would meet up with you guys when you get here and show you around a bit. Lots of things to do.

There is a nice little sand bar just south of the Trenton Channel (on the US side in Gibralter) to stop at anchor jump in and have a few beverages. Usually where you can find me on any given Saturday/Sunday.....

I'd def be interested in a group going the other way. From LSC to PIB. This will be my first summer boating, so I'd be hesitant making the trip on my own.

If this is your first summer boating and you have a 22' boat. Your trips to PIB will be few and far between.... Not trying to be a jerk,.... Lake Erie can get nasty. It seems to change on a moments notice. I have yet made the trip to PIB and gotten good water both ways. If I got smooth water on the way there, I end up with pretty heavy seas on the way home.... Just how that body of water is. However, if you do make the trip, I would make sure you have a day or two open, in case the wind kicks up and you get stuck at PIB for a day or two....

I was afraid of that to be honest. Maybe I will save that trip for the future. Thanks for the advice.

It can be done. There is a member here on OSO that makes the trip in a 22' Donzi. I was just speaking from experience. I have done it many times in my Velocity 260 and had smooth travels, but have also had times where we ended up having to stay the night (coming back from Cedar Point) at PIB because the wind had kicked up. This is partly why I stepped up to a Concept 30. While it still isn't the best boat to take on Erie when the wind kicks up, it should be a bit better than the 260 was.......

Trailer it to the catawba or marblehead area and boat over, it would be a way shorter trip.

I use to go over in a 23 Captiva but that was out of Catawba State Park, only about 8 miles to PIB. Sometimes I could hammer sometimes I had to limp it there. If you wanna try it plan mid summer, spring and fall seems to be the shadiest. Also find some points along the way where you can duck off if the weather gets bad. Getting there will probably be the easiest as winds typically come out of the west. Going back will be your issue.
