Be sure to heed that advice about looking out for fishing nets in the first post RT listed...
First time on Erie, we ran from Toledo to Detroit an back one day. On the return I noticed some red painted bleach bottles bobbing off to my right, then 30 seconds later we snagged a piece of steel cable running 50mph. Don't know what that fisherman had invested in his nets, but it cost me a brand new $750 prop I had just mounted up that morning...
Talk about pissed off, good thing I wasn't pack'n or they'd been fishing for their nets all summer.

Not that I know of. To get an idea of the docking facilities check out put in bay.com and search the Ohio State Parks for info on Middle Bass marina. There is a State Park Marina on PIB but I do not know about overnight in their slips. Google Earth shows the islands in detail, this will really answer a lot of your questions about where the docks are in comparison to the attractions. The accommodations are not like checking into the Hyatt, very laid back. Bike rental or golf cart rentals are smart for island adventuring. PM me if you need more specifics.

Heres a couple pics that might help. We usally launch out of Muzuriks public launch, thats where the L is in Lakeside on map. We always go to C dock just because thats where alot of friends go, also dock guys/women are more friendly. I had and heard bad experience's with B dock guys, mainly one. Wonder if C dock is going to steal away any busy B dock business.

Someone needs to start, in the Great Lakes section, a winter blues thread where all that's posted is boating pics and vids. And I mean anything just something to look forward to til spring hits. RT and I was up at PIB for Halloween and yes weather was cold and water was crazy but we were there for there last weekend. I told him lets be there for opening so that we can make this the shortest winter possible, believe its back open around April 12th.

vary true Bonz the last trip we made to Kelley's this past summer was in late September and it was cold as hell at night. the wife hard something and opened up the cabin door and there was someone sleeping on the back of r boat lol. when she didn't recognize the guy she just shut the door locked it and went back to bed. he wasn't there in the morning so he must have figured out he was on the wrong boat when he woke up
