I was thinking the same thing until I saw something on the weather channel about the majority of the water in the seas are above average temps, claiming it to be one of the warmest winters. I guess just the Great Lakes are getting screwed.

Maybe it does not suck completely, I was told that this ice cap on the lake is actually good. He said it is keeping a whole lot of water from evaporating and will actually help with water depths this summer. Hopefully he is right. He runs/owns a marina and I think he knows what he is talking about.

I agree. Usually they lower the water at alum but with all the cold and snow fall they haven't been able to. The water has been up the whole winter, frozen too. When spring hits we'll be set.
And yes plenty of time to find a boat, just not much out there in the dead of winter.
