Default Detroit Gold Cup

Has anyone stayed downtown in a boat for the Detroit Gold Cup series? If so where did you slip at. Also, is the river closed during races, or are you able to pass during certain times?

The river is closed to boat Traffic between Belle Isle and Detroit, The Detroit River is still open and if you wanted to sit with the Spectator boats you should be at the East end of Belle Isle and as mentioned in another post, it is not a great view but you can still see the Roastertails in the turn. I would get on the phone and call the Detroit Yacht Club, Kean's Marina, Sindbad's, the Roastertail and Gregory's Marina and see if they have any over night Dockage for Saturday, if so they would be good spots to see the races from.

I'm a member of the DYC and I can say the view is awesome. Sadly, last year and this year we will be running Boyne Thunder.

I have a well at the club also, although I don't keep either boat there. They rent open wells, I'm unsure how it works though. I heard there is usually a waiting list.
