The Detroit International Powerboat Championships on the Detroit River in front of Detroit and Windsor. Was not really advertised as OPA had put it together in about 5 weeks. It was in the General Boating Discussion for a number of weeks, the Great-Lakes-Canada Forum, Facebook and the OPA Forum on here. Many people didn't hear about it but there were quit a few spectators there in both Countries to watch the race. Spectator viewing of this race course is extremely good and it was a good weekend if you don't count the big rain storm Friday night that made the Pits a little muddy. I hope that you can make it next year and I think that if it returns it will be bigger and better than this year. Had a real good time watching all the battle on the water and the venue itself.

Check out "General Boating Discussion" and there is a video 1,500 HP Cintron Vs 1,500 HP Cat Can Do, awesome video of power and what it is like to be in one of them Unlimited Cat Class Boats.

Check out OPA Racing Forum, there are pictures by redriderrob.

Checkout this link as well, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypXJkiT2K7E, Detroit City TV.

The Detroit race was one of the best I've seen, I took over 800 photos myself. I work for Bosch and I am talking to our corporate group to see if they will provide some level of sponsorship next year. I'm also trying to get my daughter to help with marketing these events, she does a lot of marketing for a large financial company and has a lot of contacts that would really get the word out. I hope this is an annual event.

It's great to hear about your great experience at the Motor City race, and that you would like to try and do something to promote this race in the D. With all the positives I have heard it is quite possible that this race will be back and I am very happy about that.
