oh6662b 03-25-2015 05:57 PM

Casino is closed only the Pump is open and the last few years West Bay has been too and oh yea the Winery.

bigboat28 03-25-2015 06:06 PM

Last year I think the little bar at Port Side was too though.

ham_r_down01 03-25-2015 07:41 PM

Whenever the docks at the ramp are in. I have thin ice and open water close. I don't care if I'm idling as long as it's floating.

1989mach1 03-25-2015 08:24 PM

As soon as I get everything done that I need to witch is looking like end of aior early May.

Fastninja434 03-25-2015 11:59 PM

I don't think anyone's going to be in the water before April 15th

1989mach1 03-26-2015 08:01 AM

This was saterday in vermilion.

April10 is the plan, hopefully it works out.

Relaxing 03-27-2015 07:21 PM

Still a lot of ice floating in Erie.

rfgonzo 03-31-2015 05:36 PM

I have no intentions of boating till it's hot out, If no girls are in bikinis i'm not boating. :daz:

chris21hope 03-31-2015 09:41 PM

I'm not as worried about ice as I am about logs and other debris! I remember being out a couple of years ago cruising at about 45mph and passing a 20ft log, a couple of feet in diameter off a few feet to the port side. No thanks.

s022mag 04-01-2015 08:59 AM

I'd like to be out in late April early May, but have a few projects starting at home so for me it will probably be Memorial Day weekend. I will be out around my house at Alum to get all the gremlins out but shooting for a long weekend for sure on Memorial.

Fastninja434 04-01-2015 09:46 AM

the water around Muskegon Michigan is opening up very nicely

Yep. Gotta give the Great Lakes time to flush out. I've seen plenty of those logs floating just beneath the surface including a whole tree once. My boat is small enough for the local lakes though and I will be boating very soon!

Fastninja434 04-02-2015 11:18 AM

when I used to live in Grand Haven. I used to see monster logs and urinals peoples boat docks boat covers anything that the ice grabbed on the way out of the Grand River flowed out to the lake

RBOT 04-02-2015 11:47 AM

Still a lot of flowing ice on the Detroit river this morning.

mspdoc 04-04-2015 05:21 PM

Tryin to be an optimist

Well we just got "Up North to mom's for Easter. Of course we had to look at the water. First we looked at Torch Lake. Saw a couple of areas of water and some major cracks in the ice with water. Then over to Elk Lake and then East Bay of Grand Traverse Bay. Still a lot of ice but a couple of areas with water starting to show. Come on sunshine and warm temperatures. Looks like rain this next week almost every day. Maybe that will help speed up the melting too. Im an optimist!

98Fever27 04-05-2015 09:14 AM

Just made a hot lap up and down the Saginaw river on Friday in my buddies Powerquest. He had to try out the new motor. It was a little nippy!!!

mspdoc 04-05-2015 11:03 AM

I bet it was nippy. Did the motor do well. Engine temps a little on the cool side. "you da man" hitting the water.

Fastninja434 04-05-2015 05:54 PM

Dammit.I saw the Saginaw Bay on the live cameras trained and they had no ice at all on it

1989mach1 04-05-2015 06:41 PM

I was in vermilion ohio this weekend working on my boat and there was no ice as fair as u can see. The boat is coming along nicely as well. Just really need a warm up to work on the out side cleaning and waxing and such. Then for all the dewinterizing

nate2587 04-10-2015 11:06 AM

My friend on a millers ferry to interview to bartend at PIB this year said she it was pretty rough out there today.

Fastninja434 04-10-2015 11:15 AM

I think I'm going to pull mine out of storage this weekend and clean it up drop the drive into the water fire up the motor and dewinterize it and do some work to the inside. Week after next they're supposed to be a ride so might as well get crackin it

oh6662b 04-10-2015 08:03 PM

Fastninja434 04-12-2015 09:08 AM

Saw two bajas out yesterday in grand haven channel to the lake.

thirdchildhood 04-12-2015 08:45 PM

First ride on the local lake today to blow the cobwebs off. I took it easy with a possible drive oil issue but it turned out to be nothing. This is my first ever GoPro video and I can't wait to get some rough water video. A friend controlled and monitored the camera through his cell phone.

bigboat28 04-12-2015 09:17 PM

Went to kellys saturday for the early bird. The lake was beautiful, miror smooth, ended up spending the night and went to the bay today. It was crazy how smooth the lake was.

What lake where you on? I see your in Clarkston... Im right around the corner on Sylvan. Nice run!

I had a fun filled weekend filling in 52 holes in the transom...

http://i1057.photobucket.com/albums/...412_143804.jpg

Taking it this week to have it re-sprayed with gel... and installing the new aluminum swim platform. Should be in the water by the 30th.

Lake Oakland. That's my home lake. Pretty much had the lake to myself as so many people boat by the calendar and not the weather. Very few boats even at the docks. Yes, you are nearby. Maybe you can join us on the Saginaw Bay fun run June 27. There is a thread here about it.

Right on, nice lake! There are barely any docks or lifts installed on mine as of now, just got my lift installed last Saturday. Starting to get calls everyday though for detailing which is a good thing. The Saginaw fun run sounds like a great time but I think my boat might be a little to small for it, shes quick and all (70+) but its more just handling the bigger waves... Kinda learned my lesson doing a fun run on lake st clair a few years back in my buddies 19ft baja.

Fastninja434 04-16-2015 10:20 AM

it's supposed to be 70 degrees on Saturday I'll be surprised if no one takes a quick ride in the lake.

thirdchildhood 04-16-2015 11:22 AM

I'll be out Friday and maybe Saturday too. :)
