Sounds like a perfect way to spend the 4th. of July. Weather looks good too (81 - 0% chance of rain). I would like to join you, but have a few issues to deal with:
1) I burned an impeller at the end of the season last year. Replaced it, ran a few more times (all good) and made a run from metro beach to Wyandotte a few weeks ago. Coming home from Wyandotte my water pressure sat at about 8 lbs on the port engine (17 on strbod and port is the replaced impeller). Temp stayed good until I hit 4000 rpm and then would start to slowly climb. Running below 4000 temp stayed good. I'm thinking I might have some debris left in the line and plan on flushing out today. Assuming that fixes it, the boat is good to go ......... just have to get the wife and some friends to agree to go 2) What speed do you guys run at? I normally cruise at 50 MPH or so.Top end is 68 and wifey isn't doing that for long. 3) I have some good friends who have a daughter visiting from Louisiana. Depending on her schedule (and whether or not she wants the parents to do something else) will decide if we go. Please post updates on schedule. If we decide to go (I really want to), I'll be at Miller 10:45 ish. Look for me in a 46EC Black Thunder. Hope it all works out |
Post an approximate time line of the Fun Run like what time will you be going down the Detroit River and coming back.

Wish I could join you guys. Boat is still at All American drive. Have fun, it looks like it is going to be a beautiful weekend.

All is good! Myself and wife along with 6 friends will be at Miller's around 10 ish. I'll top off with fuel and be on the lake in front of miller by 1030 or so. We will run to portifino with you, and then probably just cruise back and hang out at a bay near millers with some other friends. The plan is then to spend the night at Belle Mar and watch the fireworks. Weather looks good and sounds like a fun day. Thanks for organizing it
|
With 8 people and full of fuel and water my WOT will probably be about 65mph. I'm not going to run that hard so I'll fall behind and be at portifino while you're having desert! Lol
|
Anyone wanting to head to Diggers,Lake Erie is a mess logs, garbage.Went out today to run the drive some.

My crew and I are meeting at my dock Jefferson beach 10am, than heading over to millers and rolling out with the pack.
I think everyone is heading out about 11:30am tomorrow. |
Ok. We are set and ready. Portofinos know we are coming.

Thanks, post #25 made me ask just in case it changed. Don't know if well run all the way, the Sunny has somewhere to be early afternoon.

What a day!! Couldn't have picked better weather for the run. I wanted to thank all who came, I counted 17 boats at Portofino's.
5 of us went to Clamdiggers....2 hours of beating a stuck sea strainer lid off and a broken lower later we all made it safe!! Again, thanks to you all for coming! Keith |

A buddy, Joe, we left Portofino when getting on plane the prop shaft said good bye along with his Hering prop. That is why I arrived so much later. We went back and docked it to assess the damage. He idled back.on one. |
Looked like a good turnout. We ran with you guys for the first couple of miles. Who's got the silver/green sunsation? That thing runs and looks really good.
