There's some talk of a "Show & Shine" type event for the Hot Boats.
Proposed location would be in Croton which is a few minutes by road downriver from Hardy Dam. The Dam, Sandy Beach and OxBow are easy pulls. Big Bend isn't bad. Brower and River River Ridge can both be done without getting on the highway; neither is as easy as Sandy Beach or Oxbow, but neither is a hateful drive.
There is a grocery store and 2 bar /restaurants within walking distance. Thinking the boats would be parked in the area between the 2 restaurants.
Parking for the boats might not all be paved. Could be gravel or grass mowed short.
Thinking Friday afternoon/early evening.
Talk of awarding a trophy or 2 or 3 …. maybe coolest boat, coolest power, coolest rig or coolest something ? …trophy awarded purely and 100% at the discretion of whoever sponsored the trophy IE no classes so no crybabies or whiners. No doubt it will be biased... If the sponsor doesn't like whackers, the outboard jockeys are in trouble. Or vice versa. It's all in fun and the idea is to get a bunch of the boats & owners together and have a few brews and burgers. No entry fee so there won't be any free food or drink but getting the local pubs to run a special or 2 shouldn't be hard.
This is still in the "wouldn't it be cool if…" stage so success obviously depends on participation. Enough participation without problems IE keep a handle on the ass-clowns and hopefully this grows eventually to a beer tent and live band in the future.
I'm not sure if there is time to put it together for this year, but if it was a "go", is anyone interested?

If you stay at consumers beach aka party cove that's what you see…
but there are some serious hot rods up there if you travel the river a bit…
Most brands are pretty well represented..do a youtube search….everything from alky burning v-drives to big cats with serious power…from all over the midwest…there's some local guys who rock pretty hard as well.

If you guys that are interested would pass the word around and post back up here it would help.
The only way it will happen is if we get enough interest…we're all big kids; the only reason the 2 bars and the grocery store would pony up for trophies is they're hoping people spend some $$ in their establishments
I don't have a biz in Croton but if we can make the deal happen I'd sponsor a trophy as well
And just so we're all on the same page it's for offshore and hot boats…unless the 21 family bowrider has a Teague or Pfaff or BoostPower bullet and would be a contender for "Best Engine(s)" trophy it need not apply.
Common sense is going to prevail…I don't know who's going to be in charge (not me) but we're looking for rides that make a 12 year old kid get big eyes and say "COOL!"
Stuff that "we", and by that I mean OSO members, think is cool and that we want to look at. You don't need to belong to display although it might help you win a trophy
Anyway…post up if you're interested and I'll get this thread to the guys who want to put it on.
thanks

Weather permitting I'll be on the river tomorrow with one of the restaurant owners and will try and firm things up a bit.
Just thinking out loud, but it's sort of the "chicken or the egg" thing going on…
Nobody wants to go if it's going to be lame…I get it.
On the other hand, the guys don't' want to jump through the hoops with the township, cops, etc etc and throw a party and have nobody show up.
I think there's enough interest already where we can make something happen & hopefully we all have a good enough time that everyone wants to do it again next year.
I'll try and post up tomorrow
