Default Need information on Ohio marina's

I posted on another thread that I am planning a trip from Put In Bay to Niagara in August. I know nothing about any of the Ohio stops along the way. Coming home, I'm going to stop at Cleveland's new marina, so am really looking for information on possible stops along my way to the Niagara River. Looking at the charts --- Vermillion, Lorain, Avon Pt, Fairport, Ashtubula, and Conneaut appear to be easy stops. I'll need fuel - wife loves to shop - restaurants/bars are always good. Are there spots with day docks? Marina's within short walking distance of things to do? I don't think I'll overnight at any of the Ohio spots (except Cleveland on the way home), but any advice you can give on where to get fuel and/or nice stops on my way is appreciated.

You might start with the online Waterway Guide I picked up a printed copy of this a few years back, but it's available online, too. Good for planning--if you have a connected tablet (G4) you can use it via mobile. Helpful info on marinas, dockage etc. - also some info on what's in each area. Also includes marina websites, etc. If nothing else it's a place to start.

You can buy the printed copies here: http://www.waterwayguide.com/shipstore/

Lorain has full transient facilities and a nice restaurant (Jackalope) with bar but no shopping. The new docks behind Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are very nice and there are full services there minus fuel. You are right in the middle of the action there.
