Hello everyone!!!...I'm so very "EXCITED" to announce the 2nd running of The OPA IPC UAW/FORD International (Mayor's Cup) Offshore Race, which will be held July 8-10, 2016 on the Detroit River...And it is sure to be as thrilling and exciting as the 2014 race...which, many local OSO members involved will attest...So, let's all show up and support our passion sport...Offshore Powerboating... Note: This is a big plus for the region...and besides...it's free!!!...

A whole lot of the passionate for powerboating type people are going to be up north that weekend as its Boyne Thunder.... Bummer as I loved the last detroit race!

I know the feeling...In fact, I've never been able to participate in B.T with my BT,...because, I am a rescue diver for both Unlimited Hydros and Offshore...And B.T. is ALWAYS on the same date as a Detroit race...Just my luck...but, passion & tradition, reign over opportunity....

The title sponsor...UAW/Ford.....Besides, OPA had to fit it into their total race schedule....So, you gotta take whatever dates are avail....

Bad news...The hits just keep coming...I was told yesterday, that the 2016 IPC Detroit River Offshore Powerboat race has been cancelled...Very, Very, Very disappointing...I wonder if we will have a 2017 Detroit Offshore race???..

I have to agree with you, it is disappointing but maybe in 2017, it is a great race course for spectators in the U.S. and Canada.
