Funny about the fog bohmi; we've gotten into a bit quite often between the Leelanau peninsula and Leland. Not sure why, it just happens.

I've used active captain for several years and have gotten some good info from it. And, being free, it is well worth it!

snowhammer, good to see you! So you're boat shopping huh. We're selling our 330SS and will be shopping for a 370 or 400 next year. If you are interested in a 330SS on an Eagle trailer let me know! We'll probably go a year boat-less to amass a healthier down payment but I don't think I can go for longer than one year. Boat withdrawal is a *****!

I have enjoyed y his thread. Makes me want to haul the boat 7 hours to Tobermory and run across to Killarney and the North Channel. Maybe next year.

No time this year but thinking of it for next year. Haven't been up there in at least 10 years.

I hear ya. The time to do these trips is our limiting factor also. I retired and then went back to work so I have neither enough vacation time nor the seniority to get much time off.

Next time I retire I'll make it stick, though!

I retired and went to work part-time at a local gun store. Kind of like a drunk working at a bar... I really was not ending up with enough 'net' income after shopping there as I worked. Ended up getting an offer to do what I previously done at another employer for good money, so I jumped back in with both feet!

LOL.....Working at a gun store I would have negative income too. To make it worse my wife likes guns and shooting also. I am trying to talk myself out of a 45/70 and she is telling me to get it.

It is good to have a wife who is an enabler when it comes to guns! Mine shoots but isn't as in to it as I am.

Until I started working at the gun store I never lknew how many suppressors and other NFA items I needed!
