Im sure randy has some tricks up his sleeve to make the dragon. A bullet.keep an eye out for a cool interior also. 140mph in a 525 mti.makes me a believer. Wonder what that mti would do with merge new 1350s?

First Dragon with standard 525 set up ran 94. The Apro race boat with staggard 525's & 6's runs 103.

Those at Mercury Lake X said the Dragon was the most efficient Vee hull they'd ever tested.

The Glad with 700's ran near 115. Epoxy boat, light setup up and staggard....125 may be doable. It'll be fun to watch Randy get there though!

Here's some pics of the blue Dragon being rigged as new. Ran upper 90's. The lifting strakes on the Dragon's were being added after the boat was out of the mold and no two boats had them in the same location. I rigged this one, one other side by side which had a notched transom and Gino's staggered raceboat.

Pics here:

Some quick calculations using the BAM site:

9500 lbs boat w/1100 HP and a 303 hull efficency = 103 MPH

Same calculation except with 1400 HP = 116 MPH

I would think the speed may be obtainable......the Global Warmer Fountain ran 123-125 at lotto in the shootout....I am guessing if Dan had it propped for pure top end he would be right at 130

I am not a hater In fact I hope he makes the speed he is looking for. I do not know Randy but from what I read it seems like he knows WAAAAAAY more than I do. I even said 115 was achievable. The extra 10 I feel will be tough just my opinion an nothing more. Again Great looking boat and best of luck
