Re: 388 w/ 600s - top speed?
Strip, long story short, I had Co. # A pull my 500 efi's out and install supposingly 572's rated at 700.Could not get past 89.Pulled motors , had them dynoed, Guess what? 604 hp.Told them to pull out there junk and put my stockmotors back in.That was september of 05, cost me $5,000 for that debacle.Spring of 06 took the 500 efi's to Co. B , R & R heads, install stage two whipple's , now were running a true 93-95 gps props spinning out, way to loose. Tried spinning in this past weekend, different attitude, have yet to whinde out, still playing with fuel pressures. This is our fourth summer with this particular unit. Took in in on trade in 03 for my 37 talon which use to run 138 gps, You know happy wife/ happy life, needed head facilities for the girls.

with the stock 500 efi's most would agree boat runs 83-85
with the 525efi's (most dyno @ 540) boat runs approx 87-89
a true 600 horse should put this boat at 93-95
in about 2 weeks I will tell you first hand what a real 700 will push it to

Re: 388 w/ 600s - top speed?
After 28 yrs of performance boating and hearing bull**** stories or reading them on this site about how fast the guy next door's boat runs, I ususally don't respond but I figured this time I would make an exception. You want to know how this unit will perform call Joe. He's a no bull**** kind of guy.I personally know two other 99/2000's 388's with over 800 hp , best they have seen is 96/97 on GPS with alot of dialing in. Glenns , invest in a good GPS that works unless you want to fool yourself into a false sense of speed by reading your pitot mounted speedo. By the way with your 700hp you won't break a true 94 mph.
