Question Just bought my first hustler

How fast will my 388 hustler run with 525's? How is the hole shot? How does it handle on the top end? As you can see I have lots of questions and from what I have read you guys can give me good answers. Thanks, Brett

First off let me say congrats on your purchase!!! Your going to love the boat. With 525's she should run 86-88 most any day and in super condition with good props, 90. Hustler have great acceleration all around, out of the hole and mid range. Depends on props as well. For the speeds with 525's it will handle good. Anything over 90 and it starts to go down from there. The boat was built to run stock power and 90mph. Perfect set up. If you have anymore questions just post. Lots of hustler guys on here to answer them!! Post some pics!! Which one did you buy??

"How is the hole shot?" I wouldn't even worry about that. Save your drives. Take your time getting up to speed as that boat will crush many, many boats of similar size and stature in all kinds of water conditions.

Thanks for the feed back guys. What can you tell me about the pros and cons of rear paded hatch. Mine doesn't have one but looking into getting one. I've look at the video that strip poker 388 has put on the threads and it looks like they blown around a lot. ??

I personally think the way yours is, is the best way to go if you dont need a sun pad. Yours looks cool cause its all painted in with the rest of the boat. The pad is just another thing to keep clean. On ours we had one of the few just flat padded hatches. If we were going to keep the boat we were going to put the hatch on like your boat. So my .02 is to leave it the way it is. Lets see some more pics of that bad boy!!

Great boat, I use to like the fountain 35 but I am starting to really warm up to the 388 Slingshots now! Get us some pics, click on the manage attachments and post them!
