Default Buying a Slingshot

I am about to buy a 388 slingshot and i have found several built between 1998 and 2001 that fit my price bracket.
Ideally i would like a boat that will hit 100mph but from reading all your posts it seems unlikely. The boats i have seen range from 500 EFI 650 hp normally aspirated to 540ci 900 power and all Bravo drive except for an early boat with speedmasters.
Are there any recommendations from anyone on the board that can help me make a choice. Also do the hulls differ between early and late boats?
Finally are the fuel injected boats more economical, as gas here in europe is $10 a galon!!

The main diff between the 98-2000 the vbirth interior,2000 and up have the smooth look, the 99 down had the pleated look. Some of the 98's and down had a different style bolster, but just in looks, the newer ones were more rounded. Most of the late 2001's and up Ive seen have shore power.

I was told that the 2000 dash pod is bolted better to the hull than the early ones,The hull and deck look the same.

If its capable of running 97 plus with bravos its going to break them soon or later. The speedmaster boat I would think would be bullet proof and if its blown at 900hp you can always turn the boost down and still run at 100.

Do you just want to have the capability to hit 100 on a good day or run it close to all the time?

around stock [500efi's] power fuel injected boats are more economical on gas,the blown ones depends on how ya run it,I can run mine up to around 4000rpm before boost comes in.

Thank you Strip, i am not going to run it 100 mph all the time just to know i have the capability to blow off my buddy`s Cigaette Top gun!

The 500 EFI boat has had the motors stroked to 557 and runs Accel DFI injection and claims 625hp and should run in the 90`s. The other Efi boat is on 575sci blower`s and claims 650 hp and 90`s also.

if you are shopping for boats in the states i will be putting mine on the market it runs 94 mph i would think that if chillers and labbed props were added it should be close to 100 mph also comes with a aluminium trailer i am located in new york tim 1-315-382-2698
