Default Can steps added to non-step hulls???

Once I get back from Iraq (April 09), I want to buy a 383 or 388 Slingshot. I currently have an '02 Fountain 27 Fever with a 500efi, nice boat just way to small. I am leaning toward the01-'03's, with 525's (gotta have a blue motor!!!), hopefully something with a generator, but that's not a deal breaker. They seem to be in my price range. I've seen some 98's and 99's out there, but I don't believe they have stepped hulls. What year did the stepped hulls come out? Can a non stepped hull be converted to a stepped hull? What's the cost of conversion? Is it cost effective or should I just keep my sights on a stepped hull Slingshot? These boats are assume and I can't wait to being "a card carrying" Hustler owner, haha. Thanx

anything is possible with $$$. It just does not make sense $ wise to think about modifying the hull. Get one that was ''born'' like that IMO!

Good luck finding what you are looking for and ENJOY!!!!

ALL Hustler Slingshots are stepped hulls. I believe 1997 was the first year.

Ive seen picks of this,it was a single engine boat, they cut everything from the dash back out He pick up some speed, gas tank made smaller, I think he spent around 20k ,but that was tradeing out motor work also,,, if your talking about your Fountain,I bet ya cant buy a newer bottom from Fountain, maybe fing a doner? I would save that 20-40 k ,save up for a newer steped hull!!!

hope this helps

All slingshots are stepped, the 344 Cheetahs, as well as the 40. The 26 is a non-stepped hull, and the 32 was non-stepped.
