Joe and Paul.. first off..georgeous boat..best looking and running 39 out there. The 550hp diesels..is it the same block slightly turned up..or is it an entirely different motor. Secondly, have you thought about some Yanmars and Asd-8's..or even the light weight diesel that OL did..I just cant remember the name of that diesel.. Thanks Jeff.

Jeff,
I think this was a partnership between Hustler and Merc, hence the choice of engines and drives. I have to agree though, Yanmars and Asd-8's would make for another nice combination!

Great looking boat though....

Jeff,

To answer your question, they are the same block, just slightly tuned up. The Yanmar/ASD package is durable, would consider doing it if we had a customer interested in building one.

Mwdill,

We do not have any fuel numbers yet as we are focusing on the performance of the boat right now. The next time we take the boat out, we will get some MPG numbers at each RPM level to give us a general idea of what we are burning.

Wrong. Cummins builds all its motors in house.

Seems like there's a lot of misinformation about these engines.

Perhaps Cummins could jump in and give some information?

We are currently working with the Cummins people right now to get the correct answer for all this information. In the meantime, the 39 Diesel Rockit Video is up on YouTube. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/user/HustlerP...s?feature=mhee

More detailed data is coming soon.
